Through direct charitable grants, the fund supports recovery efforts such as housing repairs, transportation, essential home contents and appliances and other needs, empowering individuals to rebuild their lives and contribute to their community’s recovery. E4E Relief will partner with other organizations serving on the ground and beyond to ensure individuals in need of a financial lifeline have access to resources.

What is the Hurricane Helene Community Fund?

The Hurricane Helene Community Fund is powered by E4E Relief and will provide charitable grants directly to individuals in the Southeast communities affected by the storm, supporting recovery and rebuilding efforts.  

 

Who is eligible to receive support from this fund?

The fund is designed to support individuals most impacted by Hurricane Helene, including residents of affected areas in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Tennessee, Ohio and Virginia. One grant per individual or family.  

 

What types of expenses does the fund cover?

The fund covers essential costs associated with disaster recovery, such as temporary housing, home repairs, household contents and other essential needs.

 

Can I designate my contribution to a specific individual?

While donations cannot be designated for a specific individual or location, they do guarantee funds are available to provide assistance to individuals in need who meet the criteria of the program.

 

Who can donate to the fund?

Anyone can be a part of this financial response effort. Corporations, family foundations, individuals, churches, etc. and all donations are welcomed.  

 

Are donations to the fund tax-deductible?

Yes, E4E Relief is a 501(c)(3) public charity, so contributions to the fund are tax-deductible to the extent allowed. Please check with your tax advisor for more information.

 

When can individuals apply for assistance?

E4E Relief anticipates launching the application portal in January 2025. As the program is intended to assist with long-term needs, we will announce additional information regarding the application process after the imminent threat of harm for the residents of the communities has passed.  

 

How can individuals apply for assistance?

E4E Relief will launch a community relief webpage where impacted individuals may apply. Individuals will verify residence in impacted area, impact due to hurricane, and expenses that need to be covered due to this impact.  

 

Is there a deadline to apply for assistance?

The fund will continue to aid those in need if funds are available.

 

How will approved recipients receive assistance and how quickly?

After applicants complete the application, submit all necessary documentations and are approved, they will receive information on accepting the grant distribution. Once confirmed, payments will be disbursed within five business days.  

 

How does E4E Relief ensure fair distribution of funds?

E4E Relief’s Grant Specialists expertly and compassionately review applications based on program and IRS guidelines to ensure equitable distribution of funds.

 

How does E4E Relief collaborate with local organizations?

E4E Relief is partnering with local and regional organizations to maximize impact and reach those most in need. We will ensure the application site is available in key areas that have not had access to resources, as identified by our partners on the ground. We will also leverage organizations that are leading relief and recovery efforts to distribute information about the availability of the Community Relief Fund.
