  • use or access our website, such as when you donate, fill out a grant application, fill out a form, or respond to a survey;
  • communicate with us by email, telephone, in writing, or social media; and/or
  • use any of our services, including when you interact with us or receive assistance.
 
2. WE COLLECT INFORMATION AUTOMATICALLY WHEN YOU ACCESS OUR WEBSITE

Like many websites, we automatically collect information from your browser or mobile device when you use or interact with our website. We collect this information to improve our Site, better understand you and to communicate with you. This information may include:

  • how you interact with our website, such as the pages you view or how long you stay on our website;

  • your employer in connection with your application for assistance;
  • publicly available sources; and/or
  • marketing service providers.

If you register on the Site and create an account, you will be asked to create a username and password, which you will need to access your account information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. Do Not Track Policy

Completing the donation transaction, accepting, and processing grant applications, customizing our services to your preferences, and keeping proper records of those transactions. The legal basis for this data usage is consent and contractual necessity, pursuant to a legal relationship we have with you.

  • Customer support. Notifying you of any changes to our services; responding to your inquiries via email, phone, writing, or social media; investigate and address concerns raised by you; and monitor and improve our customer support responses. The legal basis for this data usage is consent, contractual necessity, and legitimate interests, pursuant to a legal relationship we hold with you.

  • Improving our services. Conducting data analysis and audits; developing new products and services; enhancing our website; improving our services; identifying usage trends and visiting patterns; conducting customer satisfaction, market research, and quality assurance surveys; determining the effectiveness of our promotions; and meeting contractual obligations. The legal basis for this data usage is legitimate interests.

  • Marketing. To communicate news about our services and other information we think may be of interest to you. The legal basis for this data usage is consent and legitimate interests.

  • Safety and security. Using closed circuit television systems, electronic key cards, and other security systems to maintain the safety and security of you; your data; and our guests, visitors, and employees at our offices. The legal basis for this data usage is legitimate interests.

  • Legal proceedings and requirements. Investigating or addressing claims or disputes relating to your use of our services; or as otherwise allowed by applicable law; or as requested by regulators, government entities, and official inquiries.   • E4E Relief as a data processor. When E4E Relief acts as a data processor for the data subject's employer (the data controller), E4E Relief will only use or process personal data in accordance with the instructions of the data subject's employer.

 

How Do We Share Your Information

 

E4E Relief may share personal information, including personal information that you provide on our Site, to Partners on their websites, or otherwise to us, with third parties as described below.

 
1. AFFILIATED ENTITIES

We may share any information, including personal information that you provide on the Site, on Partners’ websites, or that we collect in other manners with our Partners, subsidiaries, and affiliates worldwide, for the purposes described in this policy. As a wholly owned subsidiary of the Foundation For The Carolinas (“FFTC”), E4E Relief shares information with FFTC to help provide services or for FFTC to conduct data processing on our behalf.

 
2. STRATEGIC PARTNERS

From time to time, we may enter into a special relationship with another company that is not owned by or affiliated with E4E Relief to provide additional features on the Site. These special relationships may include Partners, sponsors, and co-branded sites (referred to here as “co-branded pages”). Any information, including personal information that you provide on one of these co-branded pages, may be shared with such Partners or sponsors. By participating in activities or providing your personal information on these co-branded pages (or by accessing these co-branded pages or the Site), you consent to us providing your personal information to such Partners or sponsors. As such Partners or sponsors will use your personal information in accordance with their own privacy practices, you should review their privacy policies. We may share your personal information with such strategic partners so that they may communicate with you directly about their services.

6. FOR LEGAL REASONS OR IN THE EVENT OF A DISPUTE.

In addition to the third parties described above, personal information of any Visitor, or individual whose information is collected otherwise, may also be shared with parties outside of E4E Relief: (i) as permitted by law, (ii) in the event of a transfer of ownership, assets or a bankruptcy of E4E Relief, (iii) if we determine that disclosure of specific information is necessary to comply with the request of a law enforcement or regulatory agency or other legal process, or (iv) to protect the interests or safety of E4E Relief or visitors to the Site.

 
7. OVERSEAS RECIPIENTS AND TRANSFER OF INFORMATION

We will transfer your personal information from your location to the United States, where our servers are located. We may also share your personal information with our third-party service providers who may be located outside of the country or territory where you reside. E4E Relief complies with laws in the United States that are applicable to E4E Relief's business practices with respect to the privacy and security of personal information.

YOUR CHOICES
  • You can choose not to provide us with personal information. If you choose to do this, we may not be able to provide you with our services or respond to any queries you may have.

  • Promotional emails and other marketing material. We will inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for marketing and if third parties are involved. You can unsubscribe from marketing material from us at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link contained in the email, or by emailing us at privacy@e4erelief.org. Please note that withdrawing your consent to receive promotional emails will not prevent us from sending you administrative communications or legal notices; or emails about changes to our terms, policies, or business practices.

 
YOUR RIGHTS

Rights you may have under applicable data protection laws may depend on the country in which you reside. Some of the rights you may have allow you to:

  • request correction of any incorrect, misleading, or incomplete personal data we have about you;

  • request that we erase your personal data;

  • request that we restrict/suspend processing of your personal data;

  • object to processing;

  • port your data to another service;

  • complain to a supervisory authority; and/or

You can also have an authorized agent exercise your rights on your behalf. If you do so, we may also ask your authorized agent to provide proof that they are authorized to act on your behalf.

 

Children

Our website is directed to and intended for use only by those who are 16 years of age or over. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from any person under 16 years of age, and we will not knowingly link to any third-party website that solicits or collects personal information from any person under 16 years of age. We only collect information from or about a person under 16 years of age if that person is a grant applicant and the information is necessary to process the grant application. If E4E Relief is informed that it is improperly in possession of such information or that we have linked to such a third-party website, it will be deleted. EUROPEAN UNION PRIVACY RIGHTS

While Visitors who are located in the EEA are visiting our Site or the websites of our Partners, we recognize and, to the extent applicable to us, adhere to relevant EEA data protection laws.
