Get to know your fund dashboard: Donations Overview page
Fundraising is a key aspect of a successful emergency financial relief program. The Donations Overview page within your fund dashboard is your go-to resource for all fundraising information, providing insight around giving trends and other information you can leverage to encourage employee contributions in the future. The Donations Overview page is a great place to see a list of contributions to your account, from both individuals and the company. This page also helps you understand peak donation times and average donation amounts, which can inform your fundraising strategy year over year.
For more information on fundraising strategies, please join our upcoming webinar, Giving back in times of crisis: Disaster philanthropy and giving campaigns, on October 19 at 2 pm ET.
An important note: The Donations Overview page reflects cumulative donation amounts collected through third-party donation platforms, such as Benevity, and other campaigns conducted outside the E4E Relief Emergency Financial Relief platform. However, the page does not reflect information specific to those campaigns, such as number of gifts or donor-specific information. For that information, you typically need to reference the platform used for the campaign.
On the Donations Overview page, you will see several interactive graphics offering you deeper insight into the fundraising performance of your program:
-
Gifts by year/quarter/month: This graph allows you to sort the fundraising activity of your program by total number of gifts and by amount. You can click into the graphic to sort the information according to your specifications. Across our portfolio of clients, we found that the top months for donations in 2022 were October, November, April and August.
-
Percent anonymous: This section breaks down the percentage of your donors who chose to remain anonymous. Overall, we find around 10% of donations across our portfolio of clients are anonymous.
-
Donation range: This section allows you to see the frequency of certain donation ranges by your donors. It is important to remember that this section will not reflect information from fundraising campaigns conducted outside your E4E Relief platform.
-
Donor-specific information: This section stretches across the bottom portion of the Donations Overview page and includes specific information about individual donors, including name, email address and donation amount. Anonymous donors are reflected with a series of asterisks; though no donor information is provided for these gifts, the donation amount is displayed, and calculated into your totals. Many companies employ this section in their donor relations efforts, using it to inform personalized outreach to individual donors.
-
Aggregate information for your program: The far-left column of the Donations Overview dashboard includes aggregate information for your program, including the total amount donated and the total number of donations. Once again, please note that these numbers may not reflect fundraising campaigns conducted outside the E4E Relief platform until the money is contributed to E4E Relief.
Ahead of the fundraising webinar on October 19, included below are a few frequently asked questions about donations.
Can I designate my contribution to a specific employee?
While gifts cannot be designated for a specific individual or event, they do guarantee funds are available to provide assistance to employees in need who meet the criteria of the program.
Are my gifts to the fund tax-deductible? Will I get a statement at the end of the year?
A donation to the emergency financial relief fund administered by E4E Relief may be tax-deductible, provided no goods or services were received in exchange for the donation. You will receive an email receipt for credit card donations. A gift acknowledgment will be provided for all gifts of $250 or more made directly to the fund via E4E Relief.
Do I need to give to be eligible to apply for assistance from the Relief Fund?
Gifts to the emergency financial relief fund are voluntary and are not required to apply for assistance.
In our upcoming webinar, we will provide more information about fundraising strategies to build and sustain your program over time. We encourage you to attend or watch on demand! Event information and registration links are included below.
